A short pointer on this key difference: Fried Oyster or "Orh Luak" or "Orh Jian" is sticky starch added to egg. Oyster Omelette or "Orh Nerng" is no starch is added to egg. So depends on what you prefer, don't order wrongly (hor)!

Fried Oyster or "Orh Luak" at the "touristy" Newton Hawker Centre Stall 47 (See 1st image) (near corner where DBS ATM machine is) at $5 per plate (see 2nd image for portion size) is worth it.

Basis of Comparison: Among the better ones I have eaten especially when compared to many other stalls islandwide who sells Fried Oyster without the "Orh Luak" taste at all. Trust me, I have eaten a lot of "Orh Luak" over the years.

Also available is fried carrot cake at $3 per plate (see 3rd image) which tastes among the better ones I have eaten. Trust me, I have eaten a lot of fried carrot cake over the years.

Stall 47

Orh Luak @ $5 per plate

Fried Carrot Cak @ $3 per plate
